Cala d'Istria is a beautifully finished, spacious and elegant property designed with both comfort and style in mind. Boasting amazing sea views and easy access on foot to a stretch of sandy beach, it effortlessly fulfills its brief as an extremely desirable home from home.

Inside: accommodation at Cala d'Istria develops over two floors. The main entrance takes one into the first floor and a luminous and voluminous open-concept living and dining area and kitchen. One's eye is immediately drawn to the two sets of room-wide, floor-to-ceiling glass sliding doors: on one side these open up onto a large decked terrace with sea views; on the other one may access a Japanese-style garden with outdoor kitchen, a large al fresco dining table and an ornamental pond. To the right of the large open-plan space is the superbly equipped modern kitchen, which features, amongst other things, an island-cum-breakfast bar, a wine cooler and a charcuterie slicer. In the centre is a dining table, and to the left the comfy living area, whose focal point is the modern, designer fireplace. One may pass on either side of the fireplace to an open study, off which, and accessed via two sets of sliding doors, is the master bedroom. Here, another wall of sliding glass doors offer jaw-dropping views over the fabulous pool and out to sea. The bed is placed in the centre of the room, which features an open bathroom, complete with panoramic tub, a glass shower cubicle and double sinks. Towards the back of this bedroom is a (closed) w/c.
Stairs from the study area on the first floor lead down to the ground floor, where, passing through a snug TV room, one comes to a corridor. On the left of the corridor are four bedrooms: one with French bed, one twin and two doubles. The first two share a bathroom with tub and a separate w/c on the other side of the corridor, while the two doubles both have their own en-suite shower rooms. All four bedrooms boast garden and sea views and large sliding glass doors accessing a decked terrace.
Outside: a description of the outdoor areas at Cala d'Istria must begin with the unique, three-tiered heatable pool, whose west-facing, glass infinity edge, suspended over the gardens, looks directly out to sea and the sunset - even when you're underwater! The smaller top two tiers have shallow water, ideal for younger children. To the right of the pool a large expanse of partially shaded terraced decking provides ample space for lounging and dining. All of this is accessed via the walls of glass sliding doors in the indoor communal areas and from the master bedroom. On the other side of the property, accessed once more from the living and dining area, is a second, sheltered, al fresco dining area surrounded by a Japanese-inspired garden. The bedrooms on the ground floor all have access to a decked terrace (with steps up to the pool area) and the surrounding gardens, which fan out towards the sea. A path leads for about 250m to a little stretch of beach used by guests of Cala d'Istira and a handful of other properties in the area.

Cala d'Istria features a fantastic infinity pool, offering swimmers stunning views out to sea while in the pool. There is a 6th bedroom, a bunk room for children, accessed from the master suite. This is available on request for a small extra fee, but will not normally be open to guests.
There is also a romantic cabin in the grounds which also may be taken on advance request for a small extra weekly fee. It has a double-twin bedroom, a sink, a WC and an outdoor shower. Please note that if you do take the garden cabin, the maximum number of guests at Casa d'Istria remains 10.
